A small firm with a national reputation for superb and effective legal advocacy, Lichtman, Trister & Ross, PLLC combines personalized client service with years of specialized expertise. Each client receives prompt, personal attention – regardless of size. From national nonprofits, corporations, unions and advocacy services providers to individuals and families, clients choose Lichtman, Trister & Ross for top-notch representation and specialized knowledge at reasonable rates.
The firm’s roots date to the mid-1960s, when Elliott Lichtman and Michael Trister, young Harvard and Yale law graduates, respectively, joined the civil rights movement in Mississippi. They forged a friendship while providing legal services to poor rural residents. Two decades later, as experts in their respective fields of immigration and nonprofit law, they became law partners in Washington, DC. They were joined as partners by Gail Ross and, later, Holly Schadler – an arrangement that allows the firm’s attorneys to gain economies of scale while pursuing disparate areas of the law. With this structure, the firm’s lawyers advance their social-justice commitments and pursue their intellectual passions, helping clients in legal specialties they understand intimately, while keeping costs low.
